These Monster sized chocolate cookies are very delicious. A special recipe for making them large.

Ingredients
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup vegetable shortening
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cream of Tarter
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 12oz bag (2 cups) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • additional granulated sugar

Directions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the sugars, butter and shortening until light and fluffy.
  2. Add vanilla and eggs one egg at a time, beating well after each.
  3. In another bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, cream of tarter and salt.
  4. Add dry mixture to the creamed sugars, blend well.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips.
  6. To make the cookies, form 1/4 cup of dough into a ball and roll in additional sugar and place on grease baking sheet.
  7. With fingertips, press each cookie ball into a 4" circle.
  8. Bake for 12-14 minutes or until lightly browned.
  9. Makes 18 Giant cookies
