How to make it

  • In a large saucepan or Dutch oven combine water, sausage, carrots, onion, garlic, salt, marjoram, thyme, white pepper and bay leaf.
  • Bring to boiling then reduce heat and simmer covered 30 minutes.
  • Slice fresh mushrooms.
  • Add to soup along with the cabbage and potato.
  • Return to boiling then reduce heat and simmer covered until vegetables are tender about 30 minutes.
  • Season to taste with additional salt and pepper if desired.
