Cocoa Apple Cake

COCOA APPLE CAKE This is a recipe I obtained from an Estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Elmhurst Estate in Heath, Texas in 1981.
Ingredients
- 3 eggs shopping list
- 2 cups granulated sugar shopping list
- 2 sticks butter shopping list
- 1/2 cup water shopping list
- 2-1/2 cups all purpose flour shopping list
- 2 tablespoons cocoa shopping list
- 1 teaspoon baking soda shopping list
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon shopping list
- 1 teaspoon allspice shopping list
- 1 cup finely chopped walnuts shopping list
- 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate bits shopping list
- 2 cups grated apples shopping list
- 1 tablespoon vanilla shopping list
How to make it
- Combine eggs, butter, sugar and water then cream until fluffy.
- Sift together flour, cocoa, baking soda, cinnamon and allspice.
- Add to creamed mixture and mix well.
- Fold in nuts, chocolate bits, apples and vanilla then mix until distributed evenly.
- Spoon into greased and floured tube pan and bake at 325 for 70 minutes.
