My Dads Salmon Recipe

My Dads Salmon Recipe
This recipe is for a simple, but super delicious, perfectly done salmon filet that is crisp on top, but melts in your mouth. It is super easy and the flavors mesh incredibly. The servings depends on the size and thickness of the fish and what it is... More

Ingredients
  • 1 Salmon filet, at least one inch thick throughout (or close to it at the thinner parts)
  • Kosher Salt (to taste)
  • Fresh Ground Pepper (to taste)
  • Tarragon (to taste)
  • 1/4 cup water

Directions
  1. Pour the water into a broiling pan. (The water is so the natural oil from the fish doesn't smoke)
  2. Place the fish into the broiling pan and season with the salt and pepper to taste. (I do a sprinkle of salt and A LOT of pepper)
  3. Coat the top of the fish liberally with the tarragon.
  4. Broil on high for 7-10 minutes depending on thickness (and how you like your salmon)
  5. **I like mine "just" cooked, so I usually follow the 8 minutes an inch rule. You can test the Salmon by poking a fork into the center. When it is done it will "flake".**
  6. Serve hot with a lemon wedge.
