How to make it
- Always boil Yams with the jackets on,by peeling them and then boiling them,ruins them entirely.
- Boil sweet potatoes with the jackets on for 20 minutes in the salt water.
- Remove them and place them in a 380 degree oven and bake until done about 40 minutes
- Remove from oven and remove the jackets or skins
- Spoon them up into bite size portions and put in a shallow vegetable dish. Avoid breaking up the flesh as much as possible
- Pour a generous amount of sauce over,dot with butter
- Sauce: Take 1/2 cup water and place in small sauce pan heat until warm.Add 1/4 cup honey to the water and stir until dissolved.Remove from heat.
- Add the almond extract and the cherry extract
