Ingredients

How to make it

  • cut pork into bite size pieces
  • place into 4 qt dutch oven on stovetop set at medium to med/high
  • add garlic and chopped onion, stirring to keep from sticking
  • when pork is browned and onion is nearly translucent add salt, pepper and bay leaves
  • continue stirring until well mixed
  • add tomato sauce/paste and stir well
  • add water, sugar and 1 jar or less red pimentos
  • if pimentos aren't your thing, leave them out
  • simmer together 40 minutes
  • add frozen peas and continue to simmer for 5 minutes.
  • remove from heat and serve with hot steamed rice
