This is a unique sugar cookie with almond extract instead of vanilla. It tastes great even without icing.

Ingredients
  • 3/4 cup softened butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg, 1 egg white
  • 1/2 tsp almond extract
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder

Directions
  1. Mix first 4 ingredients well.
  2. Add baking soda.
  3. Slowly mix in flour.
  4. Shape dough into roll and wrap in wax paper.
  5. Place in freezer for 1/2 hour.
  6. Pre-heat oven to 350.
  7. Slice dough into 1/4 inch slice or roll on wax paper and cut with cookie cutters.
  8. Bake on parchment paper covered cookie sheets for 8-12 min in center of oven.
