- 2 - 3 C dry white beans shopping list
- water to rinse shopping list
- water to soak shopping list
- water to cover (glub, glub) shopping list
- dash of dried mustard (less than 2 t ) shopping list
- dash of chili powder (less than 2 t ) shopping list
- 1 - 2 T vinegar shopping list
- smoked meat (hamhock, hambone, smoked turkey thigh, ham slab, you see where this is going) shopping list
How to make it
- Pick over beans and rinse them once, then soak overnight.
- Throw the 'fart water' (as grandma used to say) onto your plants, it's got good stuff for growin'.
- The soaked beans go into a crockpot or slow oven (300 deg) for about 2 - 3 hours with the rest of the ingredients.
- Debone and defat your meat, add the meat back to the beans.
- Adjust for S&P and serve.
