Baked Three Beans with Pineapple

- 2 tablespoons canola oil shopping list
- 1 red onion, diced shopping list
- 1 can (1 pound) dark red kidney beans, rinsed and drained shopping list
- 1 can (1 pound) pinto beans, rinsed and drained shopping list
- 1 can (1 pound) black beans, rinsed and drained shopping list
- 1 can (8 ounces) chunk pineapple in natural juice shopping list
- 1/4 cup molasses shopping list
- 1/4 cup natural maple syrup shopping list
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste, thinned with 2 tablespoons water shopping list
- 1/2 cup orange juice shopping list
- 1 tablespoon dry mustard shopping list
- 1 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder shopping list
- 1 teaspoon curry powder shopping list
How to make it
- In a medium skillet, heat the oil and saute the onion until softened.
- Combine all the the other ingredients in a mixing bowl and stir to mix well. When the onions are soft, stir them into the bean mixture.
- Pour the mixture into a baking crock or casserole and cover.
- Bake at 300 degrees F for 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
