How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees
  • Grease two 9" x 5" loaf pans. Set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl,cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time,beating well after each addition.
  • Sift together next four ingredients and add to creamed mixture,alternating with milk,beginning and ending with dry ingredients.
  • Combine molasses and baking soda. Add to mixture.
  • Stir in remaining ingredients.
  • Pour batter into prepared loaf pans.
  • Bake for 1 hour or until inserted toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool completely.
  • Note:
  • Refrigerate for easier slicing.
