Spicy Corn Bread Recipe
Yummy. I make this about once a month and everyone loves it. It's very filling so we often eat it as a main course with a small salad, but it's also good served as a side with soups, chilis and stews. Enjoy

Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground sirloin
  • 16 ounce jar chunky hot salsa
  • 2 teaspoons crushed red pepper
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 2 large chilies chopped
  • 2 cups three cheese blend
  • 4 packages corn bread mix

Directions
  1. Cook two packages of the corn bread mix according to package directions and cook completely.
  2. Brown ground meat then add pepper, salsa, chilies and crushed red pepper and simmer 6 minutes to allow spices to cook together.
  3. Layer meat, cheese and spices over cooked bread.
  4. Prepare remaining 2 packages of cornbread according to package directions and pour over meat and cheese mixture.
  5. Bake in preheated 375 oven for 40 minutes.
