Bodacious Shrimp Jambalaya

- 1 white onion chopped shopping list
- 2 garlic cloves minced shopping list
- 3 tablespoons peanut oil shopping list
- 1 bell pepper diced shopping list
- 2 cups chopped peeled ripe tomatoes shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves shopping list
- 1 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper shopping list
- 3 cups water shopping list
- 1 pound raw ham diced shopping list
- 2 cups rice shopping list
- 1 pound medium shrimp shelled and deveined shopping list
- Chopped fresh parsley shopping list
How to make it
- Saute onion and garlic in oil in a large skillet for 5 minutes.
- Add bell pepper, tomatoes, cayenne, thyme, cloves, salt, pepper and water.
- Bring to a boil and add ham and rice.
- Cover then lower heat to simmer and cook for 20 minutes.
- Place shrimp on top then cover and cook another 10 minutes.
- Serve garnished with chopped parsley.
