Fun Fried Custard Balls

- For custard paste: shopping list
- 120g castor sugar shopping list
- 1 tsp all purpose flour shopping list
- 45g custard powder shopping list
- 1 medium egg, beaten lightly shopping list
- 200ml evaporated milk shopping list
- 200ml water shopping list
- 1 tsp vanilla essence shopping list
- 1 tbsp melted butter shopping list
- For dough: shopping list
- 300g all purpose flour shopping list
- 60g castor sugar shopping list
- 1/2 tsp salt shopping list
- 1 tsp baking powder shopping list
- 140ml water shopping list
- 1tbsp melted butter or vegetable oil shopping list
- 2 cups vegetable oil for deep frying shopping list
How to make it
- Combine all ingredients for the custard paste in a bowl. Mix well until no more lump.
- Then cook over a very low fire. Stir constantly until the custard becomes thick.
- Leave aside to cool thoroughly.
- Combine all dough ingredients in a bowl. Knead until smooth.
- Leave aside for 30 minutes.
- Then make 10 small balls.
- Flat one ball of dough with your palm.
- Then put 1 tbsp of custard paste in the middle of the flatten ball.
- Shape the ball into a slightly flatten ball. (Careful not to let the paste leaks out)
- Repeat with the remaining dough.
- Heat oil for deep-frying. Fry custard balls until golden brown say about 5 to 8 mins. Serve hot.
