How to make it

  • Put lentils and barley into a pot and rinse picking out any foreign matter
  • Add 6 cups water and bouillon
  • Simmer for about an hour till nice and thick and all the lentils are done - this may take less time depending on the size of your lentils
  • Add chipotle powder to taste
  • Ladle into bowls and have each person add their own Umeboshi plum vinegar to taste
  • You can also make this in a crock pot set on low.
