How to make it

  • Dissolve the honey in the water with the ginger.
  • Boil the honey water for about 45 minutes, then pour it into a barrel or wooden container.
  • Before the water cools completely, add the yeast and allow it to ferment.
  • After fermentation stops, seal the barrel and store the wine for at least six months before you drink it.

    Nice easy mead recipe here. I would suggest using a glass jug and a airlock to maintain sterility, wood could contain all sorts of contaminants. I've made a similar mead myself and it is very yummy.
