Ingredients

How to make it

  • NOTE: I've estimated the time (prep) to wash and cut the rose hips, and the time (cook) as 1000 minutes, although it will take longer than that. I had to list a time, and 6 months' worth of minutes is beyond my meager calculations.
  • Wash the rose hips and cut them in half.
  • Put them in large bowl and pour boiling water on them.
  • Stir well with wooden spoon.
  • Cover bowl and leave for two weeks.
  • Strain off liquid into another bowl and add three pounds of sugar. Stir until dissolved.
  • Cover bowl and leave for 5 days, stirring daily.
  • Bottle, remembering to cork loosely at first, and store in a cool, dark place.
  • Push in corks when wine has finished fermenting.
  • It will be ready to drink in 6 months.

Love, love, love homemade wine recipes, but am always afraid to try them. This looks easy enough to attempt though, I'll let you know how it turns out in about six months! Thanks for posting.
