Yams With Roasted Chilies

- 3-4 Red yams peeled, and cut into chunks shopping list
- 1 ½ Teaspoons ground cinnamon shopping list
- ¼ cup maple syrup shopping list
- 2 Tablespoons butter shopping list
- Fresh roasted green (hot) chilies or canned, chopped shopping list
How to make it
- In a heavy saucepan place yams and cover with water and add the cinnamon
- Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer and cook until soft.
- Drain the water and add the Maple syrup and butter.
- Mash with a potato masher or put in a food processor and process.
- Stir in chopped green chilies
- Place in an oven proof baking dish and heat, 350 degrees, until hot.
- Optional:Garnish before serving with chopped parsley of cilantro
