Low-fat Chili Dogs

- 1 can (15 0z.) red kidney beans, drained, rinsed and coarsely mashed shopping list
- 1 can (8 0z.)no salt added tomato sauce shopping list
- 2 tsp. sugar shopping list
- 1 tsp. chipotle chili powder, such as McCormick or regular chili powder shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. ground cumin shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. dried oregano shopping list
- 8 fat-free hot dogs, such as Ball Park shopping list
- 8 hot dogs rolls shopping list
- 1/2 cup reduced-fat4-cheese Mexican- blend shredded cheese shopping list
- 1 small onion, chopped shopping list
How to make it
- In medium size saucepan, combine beans,tomato sauce, sugar, chili powder, cumin and oregano.
- Simmer on medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring often.
- Spray a stovetop grill pan or skillet with nonstick cooking spray and heat over medium-high heat. Grill hot dogs for about 5 minutes, turning halfway.
- To serve, place hot dogs in rolls. Spoon chili over the top of each.
- Sprinkle each with 1 tablespoon of cheese and onions.
