Ayrshire Shortbread

- 1/4 pound butter, softened shopping list
- 2 cups sifted flour shopping list
- 1/2 cup confectioners sugar shopping list
How to make it
- Mix butter with sugar.
- Work in flour until well-mixed.
- Press in a 9 in pie pan.
- Pinch edges to make a fluted rim.
- Prick all over with fork and score into 16 wedges with back of knife.
- Bake in preheated oven at 325 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes until pale gold in color.
- Cut into wedges when cool.
- Can be dusted lightly with confectioners sugar when cooled.
