Polynesian Little Smokies Recipe

Polynesian Little Smokies Recipe
This is a true favorite at parties we host or are invited to. I am always asked to make this or asked for the recipe. Simple and easy and different from plain old little smokies.

Ingredients
  • 2 lbs little smokies or cocktail weiners
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 T. Water
  • 1 13 oz can pinapple chunks (reserve juice and add enough water to make 1 cup of juice)
  • 2 T. cornstarch
  • 1/4 teas. salt
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup fresh green pepper
  • 1 small jar marschino cherries, drained

Directions
  1. Boil weiners for 5 minutes in large saucepan and drain, let set. This cooks the excess grease out of them.
  2. To pineapple juice, add brown sugar, cornstarch, salt, and lemon juice. Cook in your large saucepan (you can use the same one you boiled your smokies in) until thickened.
  3. Add weiners, cherries, pineapple and pepper to the thickened pinapple mixture.
  4. Stir well and transfer to crockpot.
