How to make it

  • Soak rice in cold water for approx 30 then drain and rinse.
  • Melt the butter in a heavy saucepan.
  • Add in all the spices and salt.
  • Stir in the rice until it is coated in butter and spices.
  • Add in the boiling water.
  • Cover with a tight fitting lid and simmer for approx 15 minutes on the lowest heat setting. Do not stir in the meantime.
