How to make it

  • Place beef in deep kettle; cover with cold water.
  • Add herbs,but no salt.
  • Bring water to a boil,skimming off fat.
  • Cover and simmer for 3-4 hrs.
  • Add all vegetables,but for the cabbage;
  • cook for about 20 min.
  • Add cabbage;cook for about 25 min. longer or
  • until all the vegetables are tender.
  • Place the beef on a hot platter; surround with vegetables.
