Great substitute for taco meat and this is also great to cut actual taco meat with. This is something we make quite often. This has about 4+ servings in it.

Ingredients
- 1 cup Beef like Seasoning/ beef broth or bullion=if using bullion add one cup water
- 1 cup dried beef TVP(texturized vegetable protien) you want the kind that looks like hamburger
- 2 pinches of cumin
- 2 pinches of New Mexico Chilie Powder
- 2 Pinches of garlic powder
- 2 pinches of onion powder
- Note: Or you can use the seasonings that you would normally for taco meat. That is fine too:)
Directions
- Add seasonings to the liquid
- Add TVP and let it soak up. This takes about a minute or two.
- Cook on the stove top till warm
- Then use as taco meat
- Enjoy.

just add enough tomato sauce for the
right consistency...instead of the beef seasoning
use 1 envelope of dried onion soup mix...
Really great...can't tell the difference from
'hamburger'...HONEST...!

Pfff! I don't know why the system thought I wouldn't like htis because it was fantastic. I got my meat-crazy brother to not only try it, but say it tasted GOOD. I used a bit more spices than recommended to make up for a lack of fake-beef-broth. Everyone that tried it thought it was great. This is the best fake-taco-meat recipe on the web - and it's so quick and simple!
