  • 1/3 CUP BUTTER OR MARGARINE
  • 1/3 CUP SHORTENING
  • 1 CUP WHITE SUGAR
  • 1 EGG
  • 1- 1/2 TEASPOON BAKING POWDER
  • 1/2 TEASPOON BAKING SODA
  • 1/2 TEASPOON SALT
  • 3/4 CUP COCOA
  • 1/4 CUP MILK
  • 2 CUPS SIFTED FLOUR
  • *************************************************
  • ************ FOR FILLING*********************
  • 3 CUPS POWDERED SUGAR 1/4 TEASPOON MINT EXTRACT
  • 4 DROPS OF GREEN FOOD COLCORING
  • 3 TO 4 TABLESPOONS OF CREAM
  • 1/4 TEASPOON SALT
  • MIX ALL TOGETHER FOR FILLING BETWEEN COOKIES

Directions
  1. CREAM TOGETHER BUTTER, SHORTENING AND SUGAR UNTIL LIGHT AND FLUFFY.
  2. BEAT IN EGG.
  3. STIR IN DRY INGREDIENTS ALTERNATELY WITH MILK.
  4. FORM IN 4 ROLLS, 1 INCH DIAMETER.
  5. CHILL UNTIL FIRM ENOUGH TO SLICE EASILY.
  6. CUT INTO 1/8 INCH SLICES.
  7. BAKE AT 350 DEGREES F. ABOUT 10 MINUTES.
  8. PUT COOKIES TOGETHER WITH MINT FILLING
