How to make it

  • In 2qt saucepan, cook first 4 ingredients over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until sausage is browned, about 10 minutes. Drain.
  • Meanwhile, in 3qt saucepan, combine remaining ingredients. Cook over low heat, stirring ocasionally, about 15 minutes.
  • Stir in first mixture and continue to cook, stirring occasionally, about 25 minutes.

    I am cooking it right this minute-it smells fantastic. I have been sneaking bites of carrot & sausage already & it is not finished yet.
    Serves 6? I do not think so.
    So good I am making it again. I doubled the batch so I can bring some in the crock pot to work.
    I would give it 5 stars (but I can not find out how to rate it)

    This is an excellent recipe. I used to have this cookbook & made this stew quite often. The first taste of it is a bit tangy & surprising-but. . .it tastes better with each bite. Before you know it you will be wanting seconds.
