This is a Kentucky Derby tradition

Ingredients
  • 3/4 c light corn syrup
  • 1/4 c butter
  • 1 c sugar
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 2 tbsp bourbon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 c chopped pecans
  • pie shell

Directions
  1. Cream butter and sugar
  2. add beaten eggs, syrup, salt, vanilla
  3. Stir in chocolate bits, nuts and bourbon
  4. Pour into shell and bake at 375 degrees for 50 minutes
  5. Serve with cool whip
