Double Deck Potatoes And Carrots Recipe
YUMMY, easy potato dish from Betty Crocker's Cooking for Two over 40 years ago. Made this right after my husband and I were married and its STILL one of our favs.

Ingredients
  • 4 medium potatoes, peeled and sliced into 1/4" slices
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 4 medium carrots, cut into sticks
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 2/3 cup american cheese, grated (I just dice finely slices of American)

Directions
  1. Place potatoes in water in saucepan with carrots on top. Sprinkle with salt. Cover and cook over medium heat about 5 minutes. Reduce heat 20-25 minutes. When veggies are tender, drain and add milk - sprinkle with grated cheese. Replace cover; turn off heat and let cheese melt.
