Cherry Almond Scones

- 1 1/2 cups white flour shopping list
- 1/2 cup whole white wheat flour shopping list
- 1/3 cup sugar shopping list
- 2 tablespoons wheat germ shopping list
- 1 tablespoon baking powder shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- 1 tablespoon milk shopping list
- 6 tablespoons safflower oil shopping list
- 1 teaspoon almond extract shopping list
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt shopping list
- 1/2 cup dried cherries shopping list
- 1/4 cup chopped almonds shopping list
- cinnamon-sugar shopping list
How to make it
- In a large bowl mix well the flour, sugar, wheat germ, and baking powder.
- In a separate bowl mix well the yogurt, egg, milk, oil, and almond extract.
- Mix the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients and the cherries and almonds.
- Knead until just to a uniform consistency.
- Form into a 1 1/4 inch high circle. Cut into 8 equal segments.
- Sprinkle tops with cinnamon sugar.
- Place on an un-greased baking sheet.
- Bake at 425 ° F for 12 to 15 minutes until lightly brown on bottom and top and a toothpick comes out clean.
