How to make it

  • Heat large pot add oil
  • fry peppers and onions for a few minute until onions start to clear
  • add meat and cook through, about 5 mts
  • add garlic, chile powder, cumin and cocoa powder
  • stir for about a minute
  • add tomato puree and vinegar (hot sauce to liking)
  • bring to boil then cover and simmer for about 1/2 hour stirring occasionally
  • add beans and let heat through for about 5 mts
  • serve in bowls
  • garnish with chopped fresh tomato and cilantro
