In a town near where I grew up ( Central City,KY ) was along the Green River. It always had a huge catfish festival. My Grandmother and myself adored the fresh fried catfish and the hush puppies. She did both dishes well herself. You really can't find a good hushpuppy up here in NW New Jersey. Thanks for your truly "downhome" recipe.

I'm really sorry you've been depfrived of he bascis of life. My brother and his wife live in New Jersey, near new york, and feel food deprived ater having been raised in the south. Catfish, cole slaw, hushpuppies, there aint' nutnin no better. Grab the ketchup bottle and some sweet iced tea and honey thare ain't nuthin no better. Down here we hav restaurants tht open only on thrusday, friday saturday nights and feature all-you-can eat catfish. It's an experience to watch tas themommas teach there children to grab it before someone else gets it. You eat what you bring back to the table. only the strong survive. It's a feeding frezy.

Been looking for an excellent Hushpuppy recipe, this one seems to fit the bill. Thank you so much for the great post.
