Kids Favorite Scalloped Potatoes

- 1/4 cup butter shopping list
- 1/4 cup flour shopping list
- 3 cups milk shopping list
- 10 oz shredded cheddar cheese shopping list
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onions shopping list
- 1 tsp. salt shopping list
- 1/4 tsp pepper shopping list
- 4 lb potatoes, thinly sliced shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups soft breadcrumbs shopping list
- 1/4 cup butter melted shopping list
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese shopping list
How to make it
- Melt 1/4 butter in large saucepan over low heat
- Add flour and cook, stirring constantly for 2 to 3 minutes or until flour is lightly browned
- Add milk and bring to boil, stirring constantly.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes or until thickened.
- Stir in Ceddar cheese, onion, salt and pepper.
- Spread 1/4 cup cheese mixture in a greased 13 x 9 baking dish.
- Layer half of potatoes over cheese.
- Top with half of remaining cheese mixture.
- Repeat with remaining potatoes and cheese.
- Bake uncovered at 325 for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
- Stir together breadcrumbs, melted butter, and Parmsan cheese.
- Spread over potatoes,
- Return potatoes to oven and bake uncovered for 20 to 30 more minutes or until potatoes are tender.
