How to make it

  • Flake salmon. Make a white sauce from butter, flour, seasonings and milk. When its thick, remove from heat; add grated cheese; stir to combine until cheese is melted. Add flaked salmon, celery, carrot and onion. Pour mixture into buttered shallow 2 quart casserole dish. Pipe potatoes around edge. (I simply cover the salmon mixture with potatoes.) Bake at 450 F for 30 to 40 minutes, until bubbly and potates are nicely browned.
