Ingredients

How to make it

  • In a large saucepan, melt the butter and add the oats. Stir for 2
  • minutes to toast. Add the boiling water and reduce heat to a simmer.
  • Keep at a low simmer for 25 minutes, without stirring.
  • Combine 3/4 cup of milk with the oatmeal. Stir
  • gently to combine and cook for an additional 10 minutes. Spoon into a
  • serving bowl and top with remaining milk, brown sugar, and
  • cinnamon.
  • Sometimes I mix it up with dried or fresh fruit and a touch of maple syrup or a dollop of honey.

Wow, I've never sprinkled brown sugar and cinnamon on top of my oatmeal but I bet it's a great combination.
