How to make it

  • Combine almonds and cocoa powder in a small bowl.
  • Cream butter and sugar in a bowl until fluffy then beat in eggs and vanilla.
  • Fold in almond mixture then the fresh strawberries.
  • Spoon mixture into a greased spring form pan and bake at 350 for 45 minutes.
  • Cool completely then remove from pan and spread with preserves.
  • Bring cream to a boil in a small saucepan.
  • Remove from heat then add chocolate chips and stir until smooth.
  • Cool 5 minutes then pour over top of cake allowing it to drizzle down sides.
