How to make it

  • 2/3 to 3/4 of package of broad/large egg noodles (use the clear bag that says NO YOLKS the noodles are eggless...and very good for this recipe.
  • Cook noodles in large pot of salted water. Set aside.
  • Melt the 1 tablespoon butter in pan, add onion, garlic, mushrooms over medium heat (do not brown, just cook until softened).
  • Remove from pan and set aside. Now melt 4 tbls butter and add the flour over medium heat stir until well mixed.
  • Now wisk in cream, broth and add the salt, sherry and cayenne.
  • Stir over medium heat until slightly thickened.
  • Now add cooked chicken, and mushroom onion mixture into large casserole dish.
  • Sprinkle with the 1/2 cup fresh parmesan and just a tiny sprinkle of paprika for colour.
  • Bake at 400 for 30 minutes.

    several years ago...with one exception...
    mine used turkey!...Both ways, it
