Chicken Tettrazini

- 1/2 onion chopped shopping list
- 1 large garlic clove minced shopping list
- 1 cup mushrooms sliced thin shopping list
- 4 tablespoons butter plus one 1 extra tablespoon shopping list
- 3 1/2 tablespoons flour shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper shopping list
- 1 cup chicken broth shopping list
- 1 cup 18% cream shopping list
- 2 tablespoons cooking sherry (optional) shopping list
- 2 cups diced and sauteed chicken shopping list
- 1/2 cup fresh parmesan cheese shopping list
- dash cayene pepper shopping list
How to make it
- 2/3 to 3/4 of package of broad/large egg noodles (use the clear bag that says NO YOLKS the noodles are eggless...and very good for this recipe.
- Cook noodles in large pot of salted water. Set aside.
- Melt the 1 tablespoon butter in pan, add onion, garlic, mushrooms over medium heat (do not brown, just cook until softened).
- Remove from pan and set aside. Now melt 4 tbls butter and add the flour over medium heat stir until well mixed.
- Now wisk in cream, broth and add the salt, sherry and cayenne.
- Stir over medium heat until slightly thickened.
- Now add cooked chicken, and mushroom onion mixture into large casserole dish.
- Sprinkle with the 1/2 cup fresh parmesan and just a tiny sprinkle of paprika for colour.
- Bake at 400 for 30 minutes.
