How to make it

  • Toss fruit in a bowl with 1/2 cup sugar, 2 tablespoons flour and cinnamon.
  • Fill pie shell and pile high in the middle then sprinkle with lemon juice.
  • Mix remaining sugar, 1/2 cup flour and butter to make a soft paste then spread on top of fruit.
  • Put pie in a large paper bag and close open end then set on rack in center of oven.
  • Bake 1 hour at 400 then cool 10 minutes before removing from bag.

    Do you fold down the bag so the top doesn't hit the top of the oven?

    I have a huge garden not to mention an orchard this is my life in the summer and this sounds very good. I will be trying this out!! Thank you for sharing!!
