Rasgulla is a syrupy dessert made of cottage cheese . It is a fresh, unripened curd cheese which is crumbly and moist form of Cottage Cheese which is not pressed for as long and is made from cow or water buffalo milk.

Ingredients
  • 3/4 C CHHENA , Cottage Cheese
  • 1 tbsp all purpose flour or Semolina
  • 250 gm Sugar
  • 1000 ml Water
  • 6 Cardamom
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla essence

Directions
  1. Knead cheese and flour to make a soft dough.
  2. Make small balls from the dough and place cardamom seeds on the balls.
  3. Dissolve sugar in water and boil with the essence and make a light sugar syrup
  4. Add the prepared balls into it.
  5. Close with a lid and cook in low flame for 10 mins.
  6. Remove the lid and keep on fire until the syrup permeates the balls.
  7. Remove from fire and allow to cool .
  8. SERVE CHILLED

I presume I could use American-style cottage cheese in place of the Chena? This sounds very soothing and interesting. Thanks for the post.
