How to make it

  • Melt butter and add onions. Saute until golden brown. Add broth and bring to a boil. Meanwhile, beat egg well and add flour, salt, and pepper. Mix first with tablespoon then by rubbing dough between your fingers. (No pieces larger than a pea). Sprinkle dough pieces slowly into the the boiling broth, stirring constantly, but gently. Reduce heat to medium and simmer 8 to 10 minutes. Serve immediately.

    Love onion soup and love rivels in my chicken-corn chowder so this sounds pretty interesting but I never would have thought of it myself. Thanks for the idea!
