Candle Demi-Tasse Cups
From deliathecrone 16 years agoIngredients
- Demi-Tasse cups and saucers shopping list
- paraffin wax shopping list
- Essential oil, in a scent of your choice shopping list
- Wicking shopping list
- Several drinking straws or skewers shopping list
How to make it
- Start by using an epoxy glue to stick the cup to its saucer.
- Then cut the wicking about twice as long as the cup is deep. If the cup is 2 inches deep, cut a 4-inch piece of wicking for it.
- Tie one end of the wicking to a straw or a skewer and lay it across the cup opening, so that the wicking hangs down into the cup.
- Take the wicking up and drop a tiny dab of wax into the bottom of the cup.
- Put the wick back over the cup and get the end to set into the melted wax to hold it securely in place while you proceed.
- Once you can be sure the wick will stay nice and straight, begin to pour the melted paraffin (with drops of essential oil in it) into the cup. Pour slowly, so as to not break the cup with the heat.
- Fill the cup to the point you would have filled it with coffee or tea.
- Allow the wax to dry completely, about 2 days, actually.
- When the wax is solid, cut the wicking below the skewer or straw so that about 1/2-inch of wick shows above the wax.
- You're done!
