How to make it

  • Combine first 3 ingredients in a medium bowl. Stir well and set aside.
  • Combine sugar,butter and water in a saucepan over medium heat.
  • Bring to a boil,stirring constantly.
  • Remove from heat and add chocolate chips and vanilla. Stir until smooth.
  • Add eggs one at a time,stirring after each addition.
  • Add flour mixture and nuts. Stir until well combined.
  • Spoon batter into a greased 9" square baking pan.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Do not overbake.
  • Sprinkle bourbon evenly over warm brownies and cool completely in pan.
  • White Frosting:
  • Combine butter and vanilla in a large mixing bowl. Beat at medium speed until creamy. Gradually add sugar.
  • Continue beating until smooth.
  • Spread over cooled brownies.
  • Glaze:
  • Combine chocolate chips and shortening a small saucepan over medium low heat. Stir until melted and combined.
  • Pour over frosting layer.
  • Let brownies stand at room temperature until glaze is set.
  • Cut into large or small squares.
