Double Frosted Bourbon Brownies

- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/2 cup sugar shopping list
- 1/3 cup butter shopping list
- 2 tablespoons water shopping list
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips-or to taste shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract shopping list
- 2 large eggs shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups chopped nuts-optional shopping list
- 1/4 cup bourbon-or to taste shopping list
- White Frosting: shopping list
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract shopping list
- 2 cups sifted powdered sugar shopping list
- chocolate Glaze: shopping list
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips-or to taste shopping list
- 1 tablespoon shortening shopping list
How to make it
- Combine first 3 ingredients in a medium bowl. Stir well and set aside.
- Combine sugar,butter and water in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Bring to a boil,stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat and add chocolate chips and vanilla. Stir until smooth.
- Add eggs one at a time,stirring after each addition.
- Add flour mixture and nuts. Stir until well combined.
- Spoon batter into a greased 9" square baking pan.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Do not overbake.
- Sprinkle bourbon evenly over warm brownies and cool completely in pan.
- White Frosting:
- Combine butter and vanilla in a large mixing bowl. Beat at medium speed until creamy. Gradually add sugar.
- Continue beating until smooth.
- Spread over cooled brownies.
- Glaze:
- Combine chocolate chips and shortening a small saucepan over medium low heat. Stir until melted and combined.
- Pour over frosting layer.
- Let brownies stand at room temperature until glaze is set.
- Cut into large or small squares.
