How to make it

  • Place peppers in a saucepan and add water to cover.
  • Add salt and bring to a boil then cook for 1 minute and drain.
  • Heat oil in a skillet and add the garlic and onion.
  • When onion is wilted add the okra then sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  • Cook stirring constantly for 10 minutes then add drained green peppers.
  • Cover and cook briefly.
  • The vegetables should be tender but they should retain a somewhat crisp texture.
