Semolina Cake with Sweet Wine Syrup

- 2 cups flour shopping list
- 3 1/2 teas baking powder shopping list
- 1/4 teas salt shopping list
- 6 separated eggs shopping list
- 1 1/2 C sugar shopping list
- 1 1/2 C melted butter shopping list
- 1 grated orange rind shopping list
- 1 C orange juice shopping list
- 1 C semolina shopping list
- 1/3 C blanched almonds shopping list
- syrup shopping list
- 3 C sugar shopping list
- 2 C water shopping list
- 2 tabs sweet red wine shopping list
How to make it
- Sift flour, baking powder and salt.
- Beat egg whites until firm.
- Gradually beat in 1/2 cup of the sugar.
- Continue beating until very stiff and glossy.
- Set aside.
- Beat egg yolks, remaining sugar, and butter .
- Add orange rind. Add dry ingredients with orange juice and semolina.
- Fold in whites.
- Turn into greased pan and sprinkle with almonds.
- Bake in moderate oven for 40 minutes.
- Cool.
- Boil sugar and water for 3 minutes.
- Add wine.
- Pour syrup over cake.
- Cool and cut into your favorite shape.
