Moon And Stars

When my oldest - Morgan - was little, and saw the quarter moon he would say: "The moon is hotdogs and the Stars are macaroni-n-cheese, an' I eat 'em in my mouf". This is was his favorite, and still is my husbands' favorite comfort food.
Ingredients
- 2 boxes macaroni and cheese mix shopping list
- 1 pkg hotdogs shopping list
- 1 cup cheese crumbles, (chedder or 3 cheese) shopping list
- 1/2 cup butter shopping list
- 1/4 cup plain bread crumbs or panko shopping list
- 1/4 tsp pepper shopping list
- 1/2 to 1 tsp paprika shopping list
- about 2 Tbs. minced sweet onion shopping list
How to make it
- Cook macaroni according to package direction, adding hotdogs cut in to bite sized pieces.
- Drain well and return to hot pot.
- Continue making macaroni according to the package using the 1/2 cup butter as apposed to the 1/4 cup called for.
- Add cheese crumbles and stir well.
- Combine bread crumbs, and spices, then add to Macaroni
- Add minced onion (if using dried minced onion soak in 1/4 warm water until reconstituted and then drain)
- Stir well and serve.
