greek shortbread

- 200g of butter shopping list
- 1cup icing sugar shopping list
- 1teaspoon of orange rind finely grated shopping list
- 1egg shopping list
- 1egg yolk shopping list
- 21/2cups plain flour shopping list
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder shopping list
- 1teaspoon cinnamon shopping list
- 250g blanched almonds toasted and chopped shopping list
- a little extra icing sugar for dusting shopping list
How to make it
- preheat oven to moderately slow about 160cand line baking tray with baking paper
- using electric beaters beat butter,sugar and rind in a small mixing bowl until light and creamy. Add egg and egg yolks,beating in thoroughly.
- transfer mixture to large mixing bowl. using a metal spoon fold in sifted flour, baking powder, cinnamon and almonds mix until well combined.
- shape level tablespoons of mixture into crescents shapes. place on baking tray and bake for 15 minutes or until lightly golden brown. stand for 5 minutes before transferring biscuits to wire rack to cool. while still warm dust with icing sugar. just before serving dust heavily with a little more icing sugar
