How to make it

  • preheat oven to moderately slow about 160cand line baking tray with baking paper
  • using electric beaters beat butter,sugar and rind in a small mixing bowl until light and creamy. Add egg and egg yolks,beating in thoroughly.
  • transfer mixture to large mixing bowl. using a metal spoon fold in sifted flour, baking powder, cinnamon and almonds mix until well combined.
  • shape level tablespoons of mixture into crescents shapes. place on baking tray and bake for 15 minutes or until lightly golden brown. stand for 5 minutes before transferring biscuits to wire rack to cool. while still warm dust with icing sugar. just before serving dust heavily with a little more icing sugar

    These sound great - I love shortbread and these sound similar to the German Vanillekipferln (ground almond crescent cookies) that have been in my family for decades. Good post! Will try them soon!
