Fat Free Baking Mix Recipe
Add Step-by-Step Photos

This fat free baking mix substitute works well without adding the trans fats to your dish. This version also incorporates whole grains - without a flavor sacrifice. If you count WW points, this is 2pts per serving (i.e. 1 biscuit).

Ingredients
  • 4 cups white flour
  • 4 cups wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup wheat germ
  • 2 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon salt (I use sea salt - lower sodium)
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar

Directions
  1. Add ingredients, one at a time, to a zipper type gallon sized freezer bag.
  2. Shake bag to mix all ingredients well.
  3. Keep the bag of mix in the fridge until ready to use.
  4. Use in recipes that call for Bisquick baking mix.
  5. NOTE:
  6. For every 2 cups mix used, add 1/2 cup applesauce or fat free mayo. This replaces the shortening that is in typical baking mix.
