My mother made this sauce to go over dried lima beans and of course I have kept it going.

Ingredients
  • 1 can of tomates (break apart if using whole tomatoes)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup Vinegar

Directions
  1. Combine all ingredients in a thick sauce pan.
  2. Stir until sugar is desolved.
  3. Cook on medium heat until thick and syrupy.(is that a word?)
  4. Serve over cooked dried lima beans (or you may have other uses for it)
  5. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
  6. Be careful not to let this burn. It can ruin a pan.
