This is a light and healthy pizza loaded with yummy toppings. Definitely for those who doesn't like tomato sauce

Ingredients
  • 1/2 shrimps (peeled and deveined)
  • 1/2 cup mini scallops
  • 1/2 cup crab meat (if you can get them)
  • 1/2 red onions (camelized with butter)
  • 1 tomato (sliced thinly)
  • 1 clove roasted garlic (peeled)
  • alfredo sauce
  • roughly chopped cilantro
  • 1 pack of whole wheat pitas ( you can use whatever you like, any mediterranean flatbread is good)
  • mozarella cheese (use fresh if avaiable)
  • paremsean cheese
  • and a pizza stone if you have it

Directions
  1. heat oven to 450 degrees if you're using a pizza stone. otherwise you can grill your pitas until it's crispy before putting it in the oven or you can just bake it in the oven as is
  2. drizzled olive oil on both side of the pitas so it won't stick to the stone
  3. meanwhile, heat pan on the stove with some butter and garlic. sauted the shrimps and scallops until done but not overcooked. they'll get super chewy. once cooked put aside
  4. start layerig the pitas
  5. spread alfredo sauce generously over the pitas, then layer it with mozarella cheese, tomato slices, camelized onions, shrimps and scallops, cilantro and topped with more mozarella and parmesean cheese
  6. carefully place the pitas on top of the stone and let it bake for about 6-10 min. or golden brown
  7. serve immediately

What a great recipe! You have a great idea of using alfredo sauce on the pizza shell! I make a shrimp scampi pizza but never once thought of using a creamy sauce! How unique! Thank you for the new recipe! Its a good one!


I agree - we love pizzas made on flatbreads... we've used the wonderfully thin lavosh and it is excellent, too. Your toppings and the "white sauce" are exactly the kind of pizza I love - will try using the alfredo sauce...great idea. Thank you!
