BBQ Spareribs

- 6 lb. lean pork spareribs (or boneless pork for those that are budget conscious or like no bone) shopping list
- 1 large onion, chopped shopping list
- 1-2 tsp dry mustard shopping list
- 3 tbsp lemon juice shopping list
- 1 c tomato ketchup shopping list
- 1/2 c celery, chopped shopping list
- 6 tbsp brown sugar shopping list
- 1/2 c water shopping list
- salt to taste shopping list
How to make it
- cut ribs into individual portions and place in roasting pan
- mix all other ingredients and pour over ribs
- bake covered at 300 F, turning and basting constantly (or occasionally)
- add small amounts of water if needed
- remove cover for last hour to brown
- they must be done slowly, about 2.5 hours to be very well done
- they are a rich brown colour
- Alternate: slowcooker on low but the sauce will be red and less thick
