Whacky Cake

My aunt gave my mom this recipe. It is so easy and so yummy. We would have cakes or quick breads on Sunday Evenings and this was my favorite because I could help make it! (Half recipe for an 8x8 or 9x9 pan)
Ingredients
- 3 Cups flour (1 1/2 c flour) shopping list
- 2 Cups sugar (1c sugar) shopping list
- 6 Tablespoons cocoa (3Tbsp cocoa) shopping list
- 2 Teaspoon baking soda (1rsp baking soda) shopping list
- 1 Teaspoon salt (1/2tsp salt) shopping list
- 12 Tablespoons salad oil (6Tbsp oil) shopping list
- 2 Tablespoon vinegar (1tsp vinegar) shopping list
- 2 Teaspoon vanilla (1tsp vanilla) shopping list
- 2 Cup Cold water (1 c cold water) shopping list
How to make it
- In an 9x13 ungreased pan, sift all dry ingredients.
- Make three holes. #1 hole, salad oil. #2nd hole, vinegar. #3 hole, vanilla.
- Pour 1 cup cold water over all and mix well with a fork.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes
- I've been known to add a 1/2 cup or so of chocolate, cinnamon or Carmel chips. Or a dash or two of cayenne pepper and ground cinnamon.
