Zucchini And Dill Cream Sauce Recipe

Zucchini And Dill Cream Sauce Recipe
Add Step-by-Step Photos

This wonderful dish utilizes my love of zucchini, sour cream, and simplicity. It turned out very well when I made it with all ingredients, including another time when I was out of dill and had to go without. Good either way.

Ingredients
  • 2 1/4 lb unpared zucchini strips
  • 1/4 cup chopped onions
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp instant chicken cubes
  • 1/2 tsp dill weed
  • 2 tb butter
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 2 tb flour
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup tartar sauce*

Directions
  1. In frying pan combine zucchini, onion, water, salt, chicken cube, and dill weed. Bring to a boil. Reduce and simmer till tender.
  2. DO NOT DRAIN
  3. Add in butter, sugar and lemon juice. Remove from heat.
  4. In second bowl, blend flour and sour cream. Stir about 1/2 cooking liquid into this mixture. I added tartar sauce to the original recipe and find that it makes the taste unique different. This is a personal preference.*
  5. Return all to pan. Cook, stirring constantly, until bubbly and thick.
